Villa Gillberg
Island holiday home in the Stockholm archipelago. Newbuild comprising main house, guest house and boat-house.The island connects with both the inner and outer archipelago. The plot is located on the island’s southern promontory with water in three directions, and open sea between the furthest islands to the east. Externally, the buildings have been arranged to conform to the flat rocks and other natural features of the environs and to make the best use of the sun while providing shelter from the chilly prevailing winds. Internally, the sensuality of natural materials like light-painted wooded surfaces, whitewood floorboards and a touch of Öland limestone along with the maximum exploitation of the enchanting and soothing panoramic view have been the simple theme. All fixtures apart from the kitchen woodwork have been designed by us and made and fitted by Retsloff Snickeri in Nacka.
